Cost Accountant Remote in LATAM
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time
About the Role
One of our U.S.-based clients, a leading apparel brand with global operations, is looking for an experienced Cost Accounting Manager to strengthen its inventory accounting team.
This is not an entry-level opportunity. The company is looking for someone with solid hands-on experience in inventory costing who can bring best practices, improve existing processes, and support a complex global inventory operation involving manufacturing, full package imports, duties, freight, and multiple production locations.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in apparel, manufacturing, consumer goods (CPG), or other inventory-based businesses and be comfortable working with large datasets and ERP systems.
What you'll do
- Lead the company’s month end inventory costing update process and supervise the Staff Cost Accountant
- Perform monthly inventory costing activities and standard cost updates.
- Analyze monthly inventory transactions and allocate , production costs, freight, duties, and FOB charges.
- Review purchase orders and compare actual landed costs against expected costs.
- Maintain and update standard costs within the ERP system.
- Analyze cost variances and identify root causes, through collaboration with the sourcing and production teams.
- Review domestic production costing and perform monthly cost analyses.
- Partner with operations, purchasing, and finance teams to improve costing accuracy.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and costing.
- Recommend process improvements and share cost accounting best practices with the team.
