Description

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing U.S.-based accounting firm that works with creators, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. The team is young, dynamic, and collaborative — combining the standards and work ethic of a corporate environment with a relaxed, people-first culture.

They are now looking to bring on a Bookkeeper who will start as part of the Onboarding Team and, after 1–2 months, transition into the Bookkeeping Team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation, experience using QuickBooks, and excellent communication skills who enjoys client interaction and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

Phase 1 – Onboarding (first 1–2 months):

  • Join initial onboarding calls with new clients alongside the Onboarding Team.
  • Help set up clients’ accounts in QuickBooks.
  • Review and categorize transactions for year-to-date catch-up (“accounting sprint”).
  • Ensure financial data accuracy and consistency before clients move to ongoing bookkeeping.

Phase 2 – Bookkeeping (after transition):

  • Manage recurring bookkeeping for assigned clients.
  • Join monthly Zoom meetings with clients to review financial statements and updates.
  • Maintain accurate books and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Accountant and cross-functional teams (Onboarding, Tax) to ensure smooth information flow.
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to a positive, service-driven client experience.

Requirements

Must-Haves
  • Proven experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) – this is the core platform used for all clients.
  • Fluent / functional English for client communication and internal collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – comfortable speaking with clients on Zoom.
  • Fast learner with strong attention to detail.
  • Ownership mindset – proactive, self-sufficient, and solution-oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and timeliness – meets deadlines and handles busy seasons responsibly.

Requirements

  • Must have own computer and stable internet connection.
  • Available for client calls and internal meetings during U.S. business hours.

Additional Information

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with TaxStone (used internally by the team).

  • Background in Big Four or large corporate accounting environments.

  • Previous experience with U.S.-based accounting firms or clients.

  • Presentation skills and a confident, engaging presence in client meetings.

Culture Fit

The ideal candidate is ambitious, hands-on, and collaborative — someone who takes initiative, learns quickly, and enjoys helping clients succeed.
While the team works with the structure and standards of a corporate environment, they maintain a friendly and approachable culture (no formal dress code, open communication, and team support).
