We’re looking to hire our first Technical Account Manager / Sales Engineer - a technically sharp, customer-friendly problem solver who can help us guide prospects through the evaluation and adoption process. This role is primarily pre-sales, working closely with our small but growing sales team to provide technical insight, solver expertise, and modeling support throughout the customer journey.
You won’t be expected to run calls alone or close deals - but you will be a key player in helping prospects understand what’s possible with AMPL. You’ll provide clarity, technical confidence, and support that helps drive deals forward. As the first hire in this function, there’s room to grow into a leadership role as the team expands.
- Act as a trusted technical resource during the sales process, joining calls alongside our sales team to support customer discovery, solution fit, and technical validation
- Collaborate with prospects to understand their optimization needs and help assess the best solver options for their use case
- Assist with model translation or performance review - analyzing customer models, tuning solvers, and suggesting optimizations (with support from our dev team for advanced needs)
- Help remove friction during evaluation: streamline trials, answer technical questions, troubleshoot model issues, guide integration approaches, and ensure prospects are set up for success
- Provide feedback to the product and engineering teams based on customer insights
- Occasionally travel to conferences or key customer meetings as needed (minimal travel overall)
